A May Weekend

Wow! We are truly blessed to have so many amazing friends and family in our lives. We had a very busy but a blast first weekend of May. I love spending and cherishing all of these moments with my sweet angel. She is my joy and I love our little family so much.

Friday night, we went to cocktails at Grandmama and Big Daddy's house. Sophie's great grandparents from Paris are in town. Her MeMe is quite crazy about her and tried to talk us into letting her spend the night. This mama isn't quite ready for that step.

We had a busy Saturday while daddy worked. We went to graduation to see Blake's cousin graduate from school and all my girls that I taught the previous year. I am so proud of each and everyone of them. I missed them so much this past year as I went back into the classroom. I loved how we got to wave to them from the seats of the arena. I know they will go out into the world and make it a better place for all. Those children will be well loved and taught with the greatest passion. We even got to see Papaw at work before graduation! Sophie did great during the long ceremony and cousin Melissa helped feed and hold her.

Next, we had Lee's 1st birthday party at Niffers on the Tracks. It was the cutest and sweetest party! Sophie and I love The Very Hungry Caterpillar book and Emilee worked hard on the decorations. Lee is truly blessed to have a momma that loves him so much! It was so nice for Sophie and I to see all our friends. Our lives get so busy that time slips away and we go months without seeing everyone! The party was a hit and we enjoyed every moment of it!!

The bubble popped right in Chloe's face.

Sophie and I ended the evening with one of her best friends, Lileigh Collins, and her parents. We had a delicious dinner at Uncle Maddio's and then the baseball game. While waiting on them to arrive, we got our picture taken with Aubie because he spotted Sophie in the walk way. I think she liked how soft he was because she wouldn't turn her head towards the camera. We wanted so bad to get a picture with Aubie and Lileigh Collins but Aubie left rather quickly. :( We still had a blast walking the girls around the stadium and chatting about life. Laine and I even watched a few innings. ;)

We had a wonderful weekend and as for Sunday, we just rested and relaxed. I let Sophie sleep as long as she liked because I knew she's tired from her eventful first weekend in May. We also went and saw Papaw and LeLe for a bit in the afternoon. We are looking forward to making many more memories with friends and family.

Papaw's Birthday

Sophie and I got to celebrate dad's birthday on his actual birthday, April 29th. We were worried about the storms but we went early enough to be home incase they were to get rough. We had a great dinner out at Longhorns. Sophie loves her grandparents so much and enjoys spending time with them. She cracks me up everyday with her many expressions.  I wonder where they come from?

Uncle K

We love when Uncle K comes to town! We know he takes time away from work and spends his time and money to travel all the way up from Mobile to spend a weekend with us and it really means a lot to us! Sophie loves her uncle to pieces and we enjoyed him dearly last weekend! Good thing, Uncle K is so laid back because with a sweet baby, you can't be on a schedule. Ha!

Uncle K arrived Friday early evening and was greeted by three very excited dogs! Augie especially loves Uncle K and had a really hard time containing his excitement. We started off the weekend at one of our favorite restaurants- Ma Fias. Even hubby got to joined us and didn't get off work too late.  Kenneth of course had the cutest date in town!

Saturday, we joined dad and went to Auburn City Fest. We had a great time walking around. Uncle K took over stroller duties and Sophie enjoyed the entire ride. We ate lunch at Tazikis, visited mom, and then went home to relax. That night Uncle K grilled us chicken fingers and made homemade french fries.

Sunday, Blake and Kenneth played a round of golf and we said good-bye to Uncle K as he headed out to the AU Singers Show and then headed back to Mobile. Sophie adores her Uncle K!!

The Spot

I loved my time at Auburn University! It was a time of growing mentally, spiritually, and realizing my true potential as a future adult. Of course, I feel that we all in someway could go back into the past, we would do so many things different. I'll never forget the football games, tailgates, lasting friendships, all day studying, dorm drama, and many more things, but the one thing I will always hold dear about Auburn is my favorite spot.

I'm sure this spot is a favorite for many but for me it was a spot that helped me get through many difficult trials during college. I loved laying a blanket on the lawn and spreading out-whether it was to study or spend time with God. This spot…on Samford Lawn…will always be dear to my heart.

Having a daughter has brought so much joy to my life and of course new challenges, but I love that I'm able to share what is special to me with her. I know she's only three months but I honestly believe she understands and knows more than we think. I mean she gives me those looks all the time that I've lost my mind and pretty sure I did with the new "mommy brain." We only walk around the house three to five times until I remember why I went that way.

Last Thursday, I got to share my special Auburn spot with Sophie. We enjoyed a nice dinner with our sweet friends, Betsy and Kylie, and took a walk around campus. We decided to take pictures on Samford Lawn. While we were there-we saw several sorority sisters taking pictures and a club of students bonding together. Oh it brought back memories but also made me feel that much older.  While we were watching purses so the girls could take their pictures, it was so pleasant to just sit on the lawn again with my friend and two precious little girls. We enjoyed reminiscing and feeding the girls while we watched those purses like a hawk.

I loved my time on Samford Lawn and plan on many more playdates with sweet Sophie at one of my favorite spots! She enjoyed the spot too and was a trooper with all the photographs. War Eagle!

BFFs

Sophie and I are blessed to have two very special families that are part of our lives! I have loved sharing  the pregnancy and first child journey with Betsy Ann and Laine! I love how our babies were born ten days apart from each other. They all were born after their actual due date but Sophie was the only one that almost made it on her due date.

Sophie and I love having lunch and play dates with these girls and their families! The first time we tried to take a picture, it didn't go so well but the second time around they were fabulous! They were much happier and we added new friends to our crew- Emmett (three weeks old) and sweet Camryn. Their mom is also a special friend of mine.

It is amazing how God blesses us and knows exactly what we need and who we need in our lives. God's love for us is amazing and we love spending time around positive and uplifting people!

Our first time hanging out at someone's home. The girls weren't too happy about us going back to work.

Easter Weekend!

Look how much we've grown!!
