A Stormy Christmas

What a stormy and rainy Christmas we had in Auburn, but that didn't stop us from enjoying it! Blake and I actually spent Christmas day with both families. I guess you can say that we are getting a head start on practicing sharing holidays with both families.

I am all about family time during the holidays and this being the last holiday as a "single" lady, I wanted to spend as much time with my family as possible. I do want to say that I am blessed to be getting in-laws and a sister-in-law that I enjoy spending time with during the holidays.

I spent Christmas Eve with my family and we had our traditional gumbo, boiled shrimp, potato salad, ham with rolls, and buffalo chicken dip. We spent the evening playing our yearly monopoly game drinking hot chocolate and egg nog. We also opened up one present. I got an awesome machine that makes the creamiest hot chocolate. I can't wait to try it out! Blake spent his evening with his grandparents and the pups.

Blake and I started off Christmas Day with breakfast and opening presents at the Adams' household. It was so wonderful to spend time with my brother, Kenneth. I don't get to see or spend enough time with him. He got an awesome guitar from my parents! I hope he plays it at the wedding. ;) Mom and dad gave me my first set of of our everyday china and I am beyond excited! I also got lots of other cute items and a gift card to Ellie! My favorite store! My parents gave Blake an academy gift card and many items related to his biggest passion: camping and being outdoors!

Then we left my parents, picked up my dogs, and headed over to Blake's parents. We opened presents over there and all I have to say is Blake will be the most handsome consultant you will ever meet! He is decked out in the latest style and name brand, thanks to his parents. I may just have to drive by the car lot to check him out, haha. I received many cute items as well in the clothing department, a M. Bagwell chips and dip Christmas bowl, and a "D" cutout in Auburn colors.

After opening up gifts with Blake's family, we headed back and had lunch with my family. Then we went back over to Blake's family and had dinner. Yep, we were in and out of the rain all day but that didn't keep us from eating and enjoying family time. I ate so much amazing food that I need to work out extra extra hard this week-ha.

After all the family time, Blake and I went back to hang out and exchange gifts. I gave him a bunch of items to use for camping. He gave me a pair of Tory Burch flats (oh they're beautiful!) and a platter I've wanted from Southern Crossing.

We are approaching our wedding day quite fast and I don't think it can get here fast enough. I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with him. He makes me laugh and loves me unconditionally. That's hard to do!

I hope that you and your family had a wonderful Christmas! Remember LOVE is Christmas (my post from last year) and Jesus is the real reason for the season. I couldn't imagine the pain Mary went through as her son died for all of us. I think about Mary's love for Christ as all my friends celebrate their future arrivals of sweet little boys. I hope that you share your testimony this holiday season and celebrate his renewal within you!

We Wish You a "Furry" Christmas!

If you didn't already know, Blake and I are dog lovers. It takes everything I have not to run to the shelter every time one of those sad sad commercials come on about the abused animals. You know the ones that make you end in tears when you are an animal lover.  We love of our puppies!

Well, Carman, Milo and Augie wanted to wish you a Furry Christmas and a Happy New Year! They also wanted you to know that they can't wait for Blake and I to be married! We have 92 days to go! Double digits! :)

Blake's Graduation

I'm so proud of my sweet fiancé for graduating on December 8, 2012. The same day as his birthday! He has worked so hard to graduate from Auburn University. He has worked full time almost his entire college career while going to school full time as well. We had a blast celebrating this joyous event! Next stop, the chapel! I can't wait for our special day!

The Fabulous Holiday Brunch!

Three of my favorite ladies through me a Holiday Brunch Shower. They love to shop and they always have the most beautiful decorated homes for the holidays. First, I just want to take a few minutes and share about each one of these amazing ladies!

Mama Joe, Mrs. Linda, Me, and Lou (Lindsey)

Lou (Lindsey) is my matron of honor. We have been best friends since seventh grade. This girl can make anyone laugh and she tells you the truth. She has always been the most fun on a trip. We have never had any drama between us, probably because we talk about our drama to each other and that's enough for anyone. She has become the most amazing mother to sweet Ellie Gray. Even though we may go months without seeing each other, I know that I can always count on her picking up the phone, texting me, or planning a vacation where she invites me. :) She knows how to have a great time and she truly is an amazing friend. She has been the best matron of honor!

Sweet Ellie Gray

Mrs. Linda is my second momma. This woman means so much to me because she never complained about doing things for Lou and me on trips. She would tote us around in Gulf Shores during high school days and take us anywhere we wanted to. She would listen to us fuss about boyfriends and the daily drama of high school, even college life. :) Lou and I are so blessed to have such amazing moms in our lives. Mrs. Linda is one of the most caring ladies I have ever known and she does so much to help others. When she throws a party, she puts 110% into it. Her and Mama Joe always have the best food!

Mama Joe is my second grandmother. She is always helping someone in need and taking care of her husband without any complaints. I hope to one day be such a caring and giving wife like her. She loves to have a good time and never lets anything keep her from going. She also makes the best breakfast! She loves to shop and finds the cutest outfits for me to try on. They know all the unique boutiques around the beach and anywhere else they go to on vacation.

Aren't these ladies beautiful both inside and out!

I received lots of presents to decorate my house for Halloween, Christmas and Thanksgiving but most importantly I got to spend a Saturday morning with my favorite people. :)

What a yummy brunch! I could get use to this spread!

Coffee Punch-the best punch in the world!

 I am so excited!

Callaway in the Fall

Blake's new job allows him to have Sundays off. It's marvelous! I am currently helping my dad at church with the coffee on Sunday mornings. Even though it is trying at times, it is extra money. The money isn't the issue but the fact that I am helping my dad out. My parents mean the world to me and I will do what it takes to help them out. It usually takes me till about 11:30 to clean up all the coffee unless I am by myself then it takes me till about 12. I know dad counts on me on Sunday mornings so I try hard to work my crazy and super busy schedule around Sunday mornings. Then after church, I usually go hang out with mom and eat lunch with her. She wasn't feeling too well that day so Blake and I decided to make an afternoon of it at Callaway Gardens in Georgia. We love this place! We had originally wanted our wedding to be at this location but it didn't work out.

It was a perfect fall afternoon! The weather was just perfect! It didn't get too chilly until the sun began to set. We did our favorite trails, visited the vegetable garden, and walked the chapel trail as the organists played christmas carols. We ended our perfect date afternoon at my favorite restaurant, Cricket's. They have the best potatoes! :)

Augie had to share the backseat with Carman and he was too scared to move. :)

Augie and I in the vegetable garden. I had to hold him so he would be still- ha.
