Surprise!

Last Friday night, we had a surprise baby shower for my best best friend, Emilee Dunnam. I don't know how I managed without her in my life before she came along! She is expecting her first baby-Robert Lee Dunnam on May 24th. I wasn't able to attend her one shower out of town so I had to throw her a shower! The best part of it- I actually kept it a secret! She just figured that we were having our monthly Pinterest Party! I was so nervous because I was afraid baby bean would keep her from coming.

I wouldn't have been able to give such a fun and laid back shower if it wasn't for these fabulous ladies-my Momma, Carol Ann, Abby, and Taylor! Carol Ann and Abby brought the paper products. Abby helped me finish cooking. Momma made the cutest cups, straws, photo booth, cupcake toppers and decorations. Taylor planned the games and made a delicious punch (pineapple lemonade). I just organized, cooked the food, and of course was the photographer (unless I'm in the picture than it was the amazing Abby!).

I definitely vote this shower the most laid back and relaxing shower. I learned more things about having a baby than I wanted too but it is preparing me for the future (far far future). I loved how we can all act "crazy" around each other and no one cares about what you're wearing or if the the guest of honor shows up 15 minutes early. Ha! The best part is that Emilee's momma drove all the way from her hometown to surprise her! The pictures below pretty much sums up the tears, laughter, and craziness of the evening.

Emilee-thanks for letting me be a part of this amazing journey! I can't wait to hold and meet baby bean when he arrives in May! We are praying for a strong, healthy, and full of your personality baby. Love you lots bestie!

Taylor is learning but she may need more practice before baby Gates comes in October! Taylor also had another fun game in which involved a Question/Answer time about what new moms need to know or want to know. I learned a lot and have never laughed that much before in my life! We also had the clothespin baby game and well...Abby won that one! :) She ended up with pretty much all of the clothespins for the evening.

Chloe Aiden Downs

I had such a wonderful time being a part of my sweet friend's gender reveal party. I was the lucky one that got to find out the gender first and keep it a secret until the party Friday evening. I only had to tell one sweet lady so that she could order the cupcakes with the special color inside. The party wouldn't have been a huge success without the help of two special friends, Taylor Gates and Laurie Kooken. Thanks so much for the help! My life wouldn't be complete without you two!

Natalie and Chris had a great gender reveal party that was completely them! It was laid back and of course great food! We started off the evening eating dinner at Good Ole Boys and then Nat and Chris each took a delicious cupcake and took a big bite! And what did they discover? They are having a sweet little girl!! We all are now excited to start shopping for sweet Chloe and shower her with prayers and lots of love. Next stop...baby shower!!

I am truly having a wonderful season of "baby love." I am so blessed that I have friends who allow me to be a part of this wonderful time in their lives. If you know me, you know that I love to host a party and I am so excited about helping plan and give more gender reveal parties and baby showers. Let the baby season begin! :) I love to create parties that are unique to each of my friends..I think I have found my second calling in life. ;)
