One Month

Sophie turned one month old this past Monday, February 17th. This mommy is super late on posting. I had to capture the entire moment of the picture taking process because it was hilarious the entire time. Sophie was tired of taking pictures but with what time we had to actually take them, I had to squeeze them in. At first she would have nothing to do with them but after I fed her she tolerated them and was so cute. Her fun and sweet personality just shines in the photos.

We are so in love with our beautiful, very active and alert angel. She loves to eat (much happier to take a pic after I fed her), listen to music, cuddle, and play peek a boo. She enjoys looking around and figuring it all out. She has really started to coo or "talk" with us and she makes me laugh everyday with her expressions. She has brought so much entertainment and joy to our lives!! This mommy is not looking forward to going back to work because I've enjoyed spending my entire day with her and just loving on her.

Sophie's First Snow

We took Sophie out for about three minutes and that was after spending about 15 minutes getting her all bundled up for the cold weather. Sophie wasn't too sure about being outside and she didn't like the cold weather at all. She instantly closed her eyes and kept them closed the entire time we were outside, ha. The minute we came back inside she opened those big gorgeous eyes and gave me a look to inform me that she was ready to just be back in her snuggly sleeper. :)

Three Weeks

Wow! Life completely changes when you have a newborn and I wouldn't change it for anything. I've learned to take quick showers, eat cold meals, and it is okay if you don't make it out of your pajamas for the day. I've learned that laundry is never ending with all the spit up, blow outs, and whatever else might end up on us. I've learned that it is okay if I have guests over and the house isn't completely spotless because I am blessed at getting to spend every moment with this precious new creation from our Heavenly Father. I knew my love for her would be unconditional but I didn't really realize how ever changing it would be on me in such a positive way. This new journey is amazing and I'm so blessed that God has chosen Blake and I to raise Sophie and be her parents. I pray continually that my choices are God leading and loving in raising her. She is truly a new love of my life and so blessed!

I have enjoyed watching her grow these past three weeks and seeing her give me her "crazy" eyes, her impeccable eating habits, and funny expressions. I love her stretches, constant movement during her diaper changes, and her bubble and open mouth kisses. I love how she passes out on my chest or cradled in my arms. She changes every day and I love spending every moment with her! I dread going back to work but know she will be in good hands while I'm gone. You better believe that I will be walking out that door everyday at 3:30 to get home to her!

Coming Home

Sophia Opal Shirley Dorman graced us with her presence at 9:09 am on January 17th, 2014. She weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long. The power of prayer worked over us all during delivery because it was a smooth ride the entire ten hours. I could not have prayed for a better delivery and healthier baby girl! She has already brought so much joy to our lives!

We spent the next 48 hours in the hospital getting to know each other and I could not have had better nurses, doctors, and health technicians in taking care of us. Daddy even stayed the entire weekend with us and slept soundly in the chair next to our bed. We got to go home Sunday the 19th and introduce Sophie to her new fur family and home.

She is my wide-eyed alert little sweet heart! A mother's love is like no other and we have had a blast spending our days together and getting to know each other more and more. Her expressions are a hoot and I love watching her grow-although I keep telling her not to grow too fast. :)
