Gardening, Notes, and Football Season

This past summer I was swamped with graduate school, tutoring, and helping assist AU's reading course that I didn't have much time to do anything (lack of blog posts). During my two weeks of summer vacation, I was finally able to plant a small garden of flowers. It isn't fancy but it just makes my yard look so much better! Gardening is a relaxing time for me and I love to come home and see them grow and bloom each day. Yes, they are still alive, thanks to Blake for watering them when I forget.

I finally finished my first stack of thank you notes from the Auburn shower. I really did enjoy writing them and they are all stamped and ready to go! I just need to put them in the mail. :)

Ahh....football season is here! I love my Auburn tigers, tailgating, and watching the games at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Blake actually got to join me at the Auburn v LSU game this past Saturday. We are so proud of the tigers and how much of a fight they put up. They are growing and I know they will continue to do great things this season. Blake got to even tailgate after the game with our friend Taylor, her husband Adam, and her awesome parents-The Swanns'. They have an awesome tailgate with the best boiled shrimp! I'm telling you-it is out of this world! I was fortunate to tailgate with them before the game and also with one of my other favorite tailgates the Amos'. They always have good food and fellowship. I will miss Auburn's football this Saturday while they are on break but I am also glad to have a break to relax and catch up on my house cleaning.

Official Kick-Off of the Wedding Season

Six beautiful ladies, both inside and out, hosted a lovely Auburn Shower for Blake and I on September 8th. Even though it was a day of rain, an Auburn lost, and a closed road it didn't keep us from celebrating! Blake and I were showered with the presence of wonderful friends, old and new, and family to celebrate the official kick-off of our wedding season. Yep, we are celebrating our wedding over three seasons: fall, winter, and spring. It was a day full of blessings, surprises, and AUsome Auburn gifts.

Blake had to work that day so he could only stop by for a bit, but we still had a blast celebrating. He got to come over later and see all the amazing tailgating items we got! These lovely ladies (pictured below) hosted our first shower, Auburn Tailgate, and it was beautiful! The house was packed!

My really close friend that I spent the summer of 2007 with cleaning condos down in Orange Beach surprised me! It was truly one of the best surprises that I will have all wedding season. This person is one amazing lady because she has a heart full of God and a passion all her own. Love you Carrie!

Just a glimpse into what I toted home after the shower. :)

Who's ready to tailgate?

My amazing mom! Words cannot express how much she has sacrificed in getting our wedding to be unique, special, and a lasting memory. She's a best friend that I know will never disappear.

My dad is one tough man. He deals with a lot but always takes time to listen to me. I am daddy's girl!

She doesn't look pregnant at all! :) This was at 9 weeks.

Mom, Tricia, and Mrs. Celeste (future mother in law)
Love these two!
