Memorial Day Weekend

Blake, Sophie, and I got to celebrate Memorial Day weekend with family and friends. Sophie and I spent Saturday hanging out with Uncle K, Papaw A, and LeLe. We rode around in Uncle K's new jeep! It is a beauty! Then we had lunch with Papaw A at Taziki's and walked around downtown Auburn, Samford, and got ice cream at Chill. It was such a beautiful and hot day!

Sunday we went to The Church of Highlands and afterwards left for the lake. While Kenneth and Blake enjoyed a nice round of golf at Still Waters, Sophie's Big Daddy tried to get her to test out the lake water. She wouldn't have much to do with it that day. She wasn't a fan of the cold lake water. I think her being tired also played a factor into it because on Monday she loved it!

Monday, Sophie got to bring her friends Kylie and LC with her to the lake house. They all had a blast and did so well in the water!! Sophie also enjoyed long naps while swinging on the dock. It is just something about the breeze, water sounds, and being outside that gives a baby a good sleep. At first, I thought Sophie was going to miss it all! We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! We love it when Uncle K comes up and spends time with us. We love spending time with our special friends and families.

4 Months

This little angel turned four months Saturday the 17th of May! She loves holding her feet, chewing on everything, and trying to sit up. She's liking tummy time more and more and has rolled over a few times. She loves kisses! I love how she gets excited when she discovers new things. She loves to stick her feet in her mouth and play with them all the time! Who needs toys? She's talking more and more and loves to laugh and giggle. Peek-a-boo is one of her favorite games!

She had her 4 month check up on Monday, June 2nd and she is growing perfectly! She is 14.1 pounds and 24 inches long. No matter how little or long she slept, she always wakes up smiling at you. She makes my day better instantly when I see her laughing and smiling at me. We are overjoyed!

A Mother's Special Day

My family celebrated "me" on Mother's Day for the very first time! Mother's Day brought a whole new meaning having Sophie now as part of my life. Being a mom is honestly-exhausting, demanding, no personal time, forget the blowdryer every other morning, exciting, passionate, enjoyable, chill bumps, and the most fabulous life-changing experience. I love every moment with Sophie, even when she struggles to go to sleep at 10pm but yet is wide awake at 1am to party. I love how when I come home in the afternoon and she turns her head as I walk into the room and smiles. She brings so much joy to our lives and this Mother's Day was extra special.

Daddy and Sophie brought home Mama flowers and a cookie cake. Oh do I love cookie cakes! We celebrated Sunday by going to church and spending time with our families. Sophie gave her special gifts to both LeLe and Grandmama. We had a nice lazy Mother's Day.

I am so glad to be off for summer break and to enjoy every second with my sweet girl. My does time fly by!
