Mystery Readers

Happy Spring (soon I hope)! I'm freezing right now because I'm too cheap to turn on the heat. But you know, nothing is better than snuggling under the blankets with no where to go! I haven't had a LAZY Saturday in a long time and it feels so pleasant!

I've started something in my class this week called "Mystery Readers." Every Friday, just about, I have someone from our community or a close friend of mine come and read to my sweet kiddos. I did this to mainly promote excitement for reading, why we read, and to expose my kids to amazing people in our community. This year I figured it would be a trial to see what all I needed to do but thanks to my friend Cliff, it has blossomed! I am so amazed by the wonderful community that I live in and how adults will take the time on Friday to come and read to some very active first graders! I really appreciate and thanks the people a million times for coming to read! If you read this blog and live locally, please let me know, if you would like to come spend about fifteen-twenty minutes reading on Friday!

Cliff McCollum was our VERY first Mystery Reader.....

We had sweet Jungle Jim who was a big hit and even joined us for lunch!

Then the Mayor's assistant came to read!

Then the Mayor himself came!

Then we had two very special men come from Ft. Benning to read! They even sang, Happy Birthday!"

Do you know how hard it is to get 18 firsties for a picture? Ha! We are so blessed with so many amazing people to come and read to us! Let me know if you would like to join us one Friday around 9! Have a wonderful weekend!

Southern Love,
