Winter Blues

I've been really down the past couple days because my semi-freedom (I say semi because I'm a teacher) is about to be over. I start back my graduate classes towards my Elementary Education Specialist and Reading Masters Degrees. I am taking two classes that go from 4-9 pm on Tuesdays. I am loading up because I'm wanting to be done with this degree by December 2012 (insert prayers here). :) This will be my busiest semester yet,  not to mention I got a new student today and one withdrew. I get so attached to my kiddos that my heart aches when they leave. I did get a sweet one today.

When we get back, we rang in the New Year and discussed how we have a new year to bring in new goals and to help make ourselves better. Our class is really working on using kind words and actions (no more rolling eyes). So far so good but we shall see....it has only been three days. They had the sweetest resolutions! I got an awesome packet from Cara Carroll's blog: www.thefirstgradeparade.blogspot.com. She is amazing and so very creative! I can't hold a candle to her creativity and love for teaching.

We've officially have started our Penguin/Arctic Region Unit this month and I'm so excited about it! I've gathered resources from so many amazing teachers out there! You need to check out what all they have to offer!
