Sophie had an excellent six month check up! The doctor was very impressed with her sitting up skills and communication with her expressive little face and eyes. She laughed and smiled at him the entire time. It wasn't until the shots that she turned bright red and screamed...it breaks my heart every time. She is currently 15 pounds 9.5 ounces and 25 inches long.
Sophie loves to dance (especially to Another One Bites the Dust) and we are getting better everyday at waving "bye bye." She has the craziest laugh and is very ticklish under her arms. She loves to play with her "cups" and shake her rattles. She loves for Mama to dance with her and sing the Sophie song. It goes to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus." I love to see her face when her daddy gets home and how sweet they play together. She just squeals and smiles with excitement!
She's learning to eat solids. So far she has tried prunes, bananas, pears, oatmeal cereal, sweet potatoes, and applesauce. She makes a face at first bite every time but she seems to like the bananas and sweet potatoes best. She doesn't have a big interest in eating solids.
She's really trying to figure out how to crawl but not quite there yet. She will lean forward from sitting up and will move to her stomach and roll over. She tries to push those feet back and forth when she's on her tummy to get her somewhere. She hasn't figure out yet that the kicking is only really good for the swimming pool. ;) She loves it when you dance and making goofy faces. I'm enjoying watching her develop and discover new things and ways of figuring out how she can get that piece of paper or set of keys you put away. She loves to grab anything and everything and put it in her mouth!
Southern Love,
Tricia
